Arched Beauty - Hodgeman County bridge
featured in Winter 2007 KANSAS! Magazine - Pg. 4
A rare and beautiful treasure has been discovered in Hodgeman County, near Jetmore, KS. Like many famous treasures, it has been hiding for 70 years. “The Stoecker Bridge” in the western part of the county is described as the most unique, picturesque bridge in our area. It is a double arch, native limestone structure, in excellent condition. The stone was quarried from a nearby site as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project and completed circa 1937.
